Pune: An unidentified person was found brutally murdered in an open ground near Nancy Lake Home Society in Katraj on Thursday. A complaint has been lodged by the security guard of the society, Himmatrao Bhoite.

According to the Bharti Vidyapeeth police, the deceased was around 25 to 30 years old. The body was found early in the morning with assault marks on the face. “The killer has used a stone to gouge out the eyes of the deceased so that the body cannot be identified,” officials from Bharti Vidyapeeth police said.

Assistant Police Inspector Amol Kale of Bharti Vidyapeeth police station said the man was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. “We are trying to collect more information so that the deceased can be identified,” added Kale.

The police have booked an unidentified person in the case.
