Mahavitran to provide electricity to households under DDUGJY

Pune: The Mahavitran has provided electricity in 41,928 villages across the State and now they are all set to provide power to the remaining tribal wadis and padas by December 2018 under the Saubhagya Yojana and Din Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). The company is supplying power to 1.38 crore rural households currently.

According to an official statement released by the company, “Out of the nearly 1.4 crore households, Mahavitaran is supplying power to 1.37 crore residential consumers in rural areas (98.33 per cent).

The company is supplying power to 1.38 crore rural households currently.

According to an official statement released by the company, “Out of the nearly 1.4 crore households, Mahavitaran is supplying power to 1.37 crore residential consumers in rural areas (98.33 per cent). 

“The remaining 2,34,228 households will be provided electricity under the Yojana and the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for which, work is underway.” “Currently, there are around 1.69 lakh wadis and padas in the State. 

“Out of this, electricity has already reached to 98,356 wadis and padas and the remaining 1,740 will be provided electricity under the Saubhagya Yojna, 232 wadis and padas will be provided electricity under the DDUGJY and 347 wadis and padas will be given electricity from the local development fund by December 2018. 

The areas, which do not have the necessary infrastructure, will be provided funds through the various schemes and the backward areas will be given electricity connection through the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA),” said an officer.
