PUNE: According to a notification issued by Maharashtra Council of Examination, the MahaTET (Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test) is now rescheduled on July 15.

Accordingly, the deadline to apply online for the exam has been extended to May 22 from the earlier May 15.

The TET was earlier supposed to be held on July 8. However, the timetable was revised as UGC-NET has been scheduled on the same date. To prevent any inconvenience to candidates appearing for both examinations, the decision to postpone TET by a week was taken.

The TET will be held in two sessions: Paper I from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and Paper II  from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. While TET was conducted in three languages earlier, from this year onwards, it will be conducted in eight languages.

MAHATET MANDATORY
MahaTET is mandatory for all teachers to be eligible to teach classes from Std I to VIII. It is compulsory at all aided, non-aided, permanently unaided schools of all the mediums.
