Maharashtra Tarun Mandal organised Rangpanchami celebration for underprivileged children

Pune: The festival of Rangpanchami which is observed after 5 days of Holi is celebrated across the country. This festival is celebrated in Maharashtra with a great fanfare. 

On this day, Maharashtra Tarun Mandal organised a program at the Maharashtra Tarun Mandals Utsavmandap, Budhwar Peth for the underprivileged children and the children of the sex-workers. 
The members of the mandal oragnises food, colors and water supply from the fire-brigade to let the children enjoy the festival. 

“Every year I wait for this single day as I can celebration holi with my friends. We play with colors throughout the day, dance on the music and eat delicious food which are given by them,”said Nipul, a child of a sex-worker. 

“Due to the effect of TV, movies and songs of holi, people specially in cities start to play colours on Holi and have forgotten the importance of Rangpanchami in our country. The members of the Tarun mandal always wanted to do something special for the children who cannot afford to celebrate any festival”said Shreeram Sudrik, a member of Maharashtra Tarun Mandal.

He further added that this year is there fifth celebration of Rangpanchami and they are happy about the fact that every year the count of the children is increasing.
