Mahametro to start civil work on Karve Road from Friday

Pune: Officials of Mahametro will be starting civil work of Vanaz-Ramwadi corridor of metro project on Karve Road from Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Mahametro Managing Director Brijesh Dixit said the work will start from Garware College on Karve Road and the work will be done in parts to avoid traffic chaos.

Earlier Mahametro had decided to implement traffic diversions on Karve Road from SNDT College. As the earlier plan was causing traffic-related issues, Mahametro has decided to progress with construction work in parts. Dixit said construction sites will be barricaded and several traffic wardens will be deployed on Karve Road. He said the work of building a flyover at Nal Stop will start from May 10.

Mahametro is planning to implement the traffic diversions on Karve Road from May 10. The stretch from SNDT College to Garware College on Karve Road will be a no-parking zone, which will be implemented strictly by traffic police.
