PUNE: Lonavla is set to get its latest tourist attraction - a Dinosaur Park. It is an edu-entertainment park based on the Jurassic theme, spread over 17 acres near Aundholi village in Lonavla. The park has 60 different dinosaurs, some 135 feet high. The park will be inaugurated on September 30.
Earlier, the famous Rainbow Jelly Candy factory was located at this spot for 20 years. The work of the park started in February.
Madan Patil, the owner of Rainbow Land Park, said, “Before starting the Dinosaur Park, I went around many countries just to see what amuses tourists more than just water parks. So I decided to start with an Animatronic Dinosaur Park along with educational features in it. Tickets will be priced between Rs 188 to 488.”
The Dinosaur Park will resemble the Mesozoic Era, the period in which dinosaurs lived on earth. The dinosaurs in the park will be Animatronic - they will have programmable movements and will shout or scare the visitors passing by.
“The park will be based on the sets and sequences of the Jurassic Park movie,” Patil said.
Another interesting attraction will be Indogene Laboratory, just like InGen laboratory of the Jurassic Park movie. “There will be a mad scientist who will be showing a dinosaur made from the DNA of the mosquito,” Patil said.
Visitors can experience the thrill of infinity drop, cave and fossil park. Along with it, there will be six restaurants in the theme park and four factories including, a Winery, Artisan chocolate factory, Cheesery and Fudgery.
SEVERAL ATTRACTIONS
- The Park will have a six 20-feet long Brontosaurus, in addition to Acrocanthosaurus, Alioramus, Gigantoraptor and many more, which will be 70-80 feet long.
- The tallest dinosaur will be Tyrannosaurus, commonly known as T-Rex, which will be 135 feet long.
- It will house a Hollywood Wax museum, where 150 Hollywood celebrities’ wax statues will be showcased, like Bruce Lee and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- There will be Miniature Wonder Land, where miniature trains, buses, the environment of six different regions including The Alps, China and India will be portrayed.
