LokSabha 2019: Submit election expenditure on time: District Collector

PUNE: The District Collector and District Electoral Officer Naval Kishore Ram said that the candidates of different political parties must submit their election expenditure on time. He was speaking at a meeting of political parties held at the District Collector’s office here on Monday. In the meeting, information about the Election Commission’s instructions, the Model Code of Conduct, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) was also given.

Ram also mentioned that different parties have been given permission to promote on various platforms like rallies, radio and television broadcasting, street plays, mobile SMS and social media from time to time. Earlier, information about such expenditures was not given to the election office by the designated candidates. Therefore, there was a need to register a difference in the account of expenditure, and candidates were supposed to mention it the very next day of the promotional event.

He also mentioned that it was not mandatory to include the transport expense of star campaigners for the political parties in the election expenditure of the candidate.

Central Election Inspectors - Rajiv Shrivastav, Rajat Agarwal, Central Expenditure Inspector Priyanka Gulati, Resident Deputy Collector Dr Jayashree Katare, Ajit Raylekar of Election Expenses Management, Suhas Chadari of a window scheme, Vijay Singh Deshmukh and other officials of the EVM management were present.
