LokSabha 2019: EVM-VVPAT machine randomisation today

PUNE: In order to ensure transparency in the allotment of EVM-VVPAT machines, the first randomisation of EVM-VVPAT machines will be held on March 25 at 

Vakhar Mahamandal in Bhosari in presence of political parties, candidates and officials of the Election Commission. 

As per information shared by the district administration officials, the process will start by 10 am and representatives of political parties and candidates have been requested to be present at the time. Officials of the district information office said that the process will be headed by District Collector Naval Kishore Ram.

“The machines have to be prepared for the polling. Which machine will go to which polling station has to be decided and a random process is used which is computer based. The machines will be allotted to the assembly segments by the district collectors on a random basis. The procedure will be carried out in the presence of political parties so that people do not have objections.” added the official. 

The district administration has provided training of EVM-VVPAT machines to citizens, political parties, government officials involved in the election process. 

Officials said that they have informed the political parties that all polling stations will have VVPATs through which the voter can verify his vote through a printed slip. 

The political representatives will be briefed about the randomisation process and assured that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure free and fair polls.
