Actor Dr Amol Kolhe is presently facing a dilemma on what should be his top priority: Full-time acting or full-time politics? Apparently, he has not been able to make up his mind as he is busy shooting for his television serial even as his supporters and NCP workers anxiously await for him to resume poll campaign for the Shirur Lok Sabha seat.

Pimpri: Actor Dr Amol Kolhe is presently facing a dilemma on what should be his top priority: Full-time acting or full-time politics? Apparently, he has not been able to make up his mind as he is busy shooting for his television serial even as his supporters and NCP workers anxiously await for him to resume poll campaign for the Shirur Lok Sabha seat.

As an NCP candidate, Kolhe is pitted against Shiv Sena’s three-term MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil.

Kolhe, who shot to fame with his role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Marathi television serial ‘Raja Shiv Chhatrapati’, is presently busy shooting for the ongoing television serial ‘Swarajya Rakshak Sambhaji’.

In this serial, Kolhe is playing the lead role of Sambhaji Maharaj.

Due to the popularity of his television serials, Kolhe was one of the star campaigners of the Shiv Sena in 2014 parliamentary and state assembly polls. He joined the NCP a few weeks ago and was immediately given the party’s candidature from Shirur seat.

His candidature was expected to pose a tough challenge to Adhalrao Patil who had not experienced much competition in the past three elections. The reluctance of Kolhe in giving full attention to the poll campaign has however disturbed NCP workers.

Those close to the actor-turned-politician, however, say that Kolhe will soon conclude his shooting and return to the poll campaign.

Meanwhile, Adhalrao Patil met Bhosari’s independent MLA Mahesh Landge on Friday and secured his support in the poll campaign. BJP’s Chinchwad MLA Laxman Jagtap was also present at the meeting.
