Ramesh Bagwe said, “Recently, a High Court order mentioned that there is corruption in pulses stock scam. Being a Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Department, Bapat is responsible for it.”

PUNE: “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Girish Bapat is providing fake information about development to the people  just like Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Congress candidate Mohan Joshi on Friday in an election campaign rally at Wadgaon Sheri.

On the other side, Bapat decided to keep dignity in the election campaign and emphasised on developmental works.

In the Wadgaon Sheri assembly constituency rally, Joshi said, “Bapat is saying that government has given Rs 60,000 crore to Pune city under the Smart City Mission. However, actually, the government has only given Rs 300 crore. Now, people have realised what the BJP government has done for them.”

In the press conference, Congress city President Ramesh Bagwe called Bapat as ‘Chowkidar Chor’.

He said, “Recently, a High Court order mentioned that there is corruption in pulses stock scam. Being a Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Department, Bapat is responsible for it.”

On the other side, Bapat said in a press conference, “We have done a lot of developmental work in the city. We are focusing on developmental issues. We are contesting election against the party and not an individual. Hence, I will criticise the Congress Party and not an individual person. I know that Puneites don’t like personal criticism.”

He further said, “We have completed 65 per cent area during the election campaign. In the coming days, we will cover the remaining part of the city. We have inaugurated two election campaigning vans on Friday. Now, we will use these vans for campaign in a different parts of the city. We have proposed more vans which will be used for campaigning soon.”
