In-laws thrash their pregnant daughter-in-law

Pune: A 24-year-old pregnant woman has lodged an FIR against her husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law alleging that they hit her on abdomen and back believing that she will give birth to a girl child. 

The woman in her complaint to Wakad police station stated that her in-laws thought they will not get a male child as she had conceived on pournima. 

The police have booked the accused persons for offences under section 315 (act done with intent to prevent a child being born alive or to cause it to die after birth) of the Indian Penal Code.

No arrest has been made till now. The incident had taken place on Saturday.
