Land owners to get 2.5 times more price

Pune: Officials of the Mahametro have decided to compensate land owners with 2.5 times the Ready Reckoner value during the land acquisition. Officials of Mahametro said they will need land for parking near metro stations and so they will have to acquire private land. 

“People should be willing to part with their land and so they need to be paid a good amount so that they agree to the terms of Mahametro. We will pay the land owners 2.5 times the Ready Reckoner value in cash,” said an official of Mahametro.

From Vanaz to Civil Court metro stations there will be parking area at Ideal Colony, Nal Stop and SNDT College. 

About the progress of work on Vanaz to Civil Court route, Gautam Birhade, Chief Project Manager of Mahametro said civil work of 4 pillars and foundation of 15 pillars have been laid. “In all 300 pillars are been planned of which 200 pillars will be laid from Deccan to Vanaz station,” he added. 

Speaking about the traffic diversion on Karve Road due to ongoing work of metro, Birhade said that the diversions will start from first week of March. 

“We have changed the locations of some PMPML bus stands. Footpaths at certain places are being cut to increase the road width. We have asked MSRTC to change their routes. The diversions will be applicable for 12 to 18 months,” added Birhade.
