Koregaon Park police detain two for forgery

Earlier in 2016, a CBI court had acquitted five persons including Harish Milani for trying to grab the defence land.

Pune: The Koregaon Park (KP) police station have detained two accused named by builder Manish Harish Milani for allegedly forging documents related to 69.23 acres land in Lohegaon, about which the Army and Milani’s father are engaged in a tussle in the court. The land is valued at over Rs 1,000 crore, due to its location next to the new airport road in Viman Nagar.

Milani had filed a private complaint in the court and based on the court’s order, the police have registered the case against estate agent Ishraq Khan, Sudhir Kamat and advocate GR Sharma. They are alleged of committing offences under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged document as genuine), 473 (making or possessing counterfeit seal, etc), 120b (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The incident took place between 2015 and March 21 this year. 

The FIR was registered on Saturday. Khan and Kamat have been detained.
