Khandala derailment: Two trains cancelled, another re-scheduled

According to railway officials, train number 11008 Pune-CSMT Deccan Express and train number 51318 Pune-Karjat Passenger were cancelled.

Pune: The derailment of a goods train between Monkey Hill and Khandala on Thursday affected trains from Pune station on Friday. 

According to railway officials, train number 11008 Pune-CSMT Deccan Express and train number 51318 Pune-Karjat Passenger were cancelled. Train number 12263 Pune-Nizamuddin Express was re-scheduled. The train, which usually departs from Pune at 11.10 am, was re-scheduled to depart at 6.15 pm on Friday.

Two wagons of the goods train derailed between Monkey Hill and Khandala in Kalyan-Lonavla section at 3.55 pm on Thursday. This affected the schedule of around 18 trains on Thursday. “The middle line between Monkey Hill and Khandala was opened at 01.40 am and the 18 trains are again running on time on the Karjat-Monkey Hill-Khandala route instead of the diverted route,” said Manoj Kumar Jhawar, Public Relations Officer of Pune rail division.
