KCB to register for Smart Cantt Project

PIMPRI: Following in the Pune and Secunderabad cantonment boards’ footsteps, the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) has now joined the race for the Smart Cantonment Project.

The KCB has finally drafted a proposal for inclusion in the project, which was approved by the board at its meeting conducted on Thursday.

Khadki Cantonment Board  president Brig Dhiraj Mohan questioned the elected members of the board for the delay in registering for the project when he was informed that the PMC has not shared work with KCB under the Smart City Project.

“Why were the public representatives not alert when the PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation) did not consider the KCB under their Smart City Project? Why was no objection raised by any of the elected members? The board should have taken the initiative on this matter earlier,” said Mohan. However, Khadki Cantonment Board  CEO Amol Jagtap said now the board is ready to send a proposal to the Ministry of Defence and plan things ahead (MoD).

“The board has read and studied all criteria required to participate in the Smart Cantonment Project. We have also prepared the proposal accordingly,” said Jagtap.

200TH ANNIVERSARY
The KCB will step into the 200th year from September 2017-2018. Therefore, KCB President Dhiraj Mohan has asked the board members to undertake initiatives such as tree plantation, cultural activities, etc.
