Kamble likely to be candidate for KP-Ghorpadi ward

Pune: Himali Kamble, daughter of late deputy mayor Navnath Kamble, filed her nomination papers on Friday for the Koregaon Park-Ghorpadi ward civic by-polls. The seat has been vacant since Navnath Kamble’s demise.

Himali’s candidature is supported by BJP and RPI(A). However, as Himali has not submitted Form A and B, it means that both BJP and RPI (A) are yet to decide on whether she will contest on BJP or RPI(A) party’s symbol. The bypolls will be held on October 11. .

When current Deputy Mayor Dr Siddharth Dhende, was asked about whether party’s symbol will be offered to Himali Kamble, he said that the party is trying to hold the elections unopposed. He added that in this case, RPI(A) will fight on its symbol and if the opposition party fields its candidate, BJP’s symbol will be used.
