Judicial custody of five arrested extended

The five arrested in the case including lawyer Surendra Gadling, Delhi-based activist Rona Wilson, anti-displacement activist Mahesh Raut, Nagpur University professor Shoma Sen and Mumbai-based activist Sudhir Dhawle were arrested from their residence on June 6.

PUNE: Judge AS Bhaisare on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of the five persons arrested in Elgar Parishad case up to August 2, 2018.

The five arrested including lawyer Surendra Gadling, Delhi-based activist Rona Wilson, anti-displacement activist Mahesh Raut, Nagpur University professor Shoma Sen and Mumbai-based activist Sudhir Dhawle were arrested from their residence on June 6.

During the hearing on Wednesday, only Sen was produced in the court by the police. 

The court has directed to produce all five in the court on the next hearing on August 2.

The accused were arrested by Pune police  for their alleged role in organising Elgar Parishad and for their alleged links with CPI (Maoist).
