Pune: JN Petit School celebrated the 71st Independence Day through a two-week long celebration filled with patriotic competitions and events.
The enthusiasm of the teachers set an exemplary precedent for the celebration to follow. The staff members participated in the salad making competition on August 11 to express their patriotic sentiments through food colours.
All the sections, namely Pre-primary, Primary, Middle, Secondary and workshop, demonstrated various aspects of independent India in the ‘Class Board Exhibition competition’ since August 1.
The ingenuity of the ideas gave a new meaning to the interpretation of freedom and its significance.
The students expressed their patriotic fervour through colours, dance, music and even their food. The tiffin competition was a grand success.
On August 15, the programme began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal, followed by a dance performance by the tiny tots of the Pre Primary Section. The School choir sang an energetic song to evoke the spirit of patriotism.
The Teachers’ Medley was greatly appreciated by the entire audience. Speeches by teachers highlighted the spirit of independence and nationalism.
This was followed by the prize distribution.
The parents then proceeded to view the exhibition displayed by the Workshop students.
