Javadekar says focus on tech to transform the nation

Pune: Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar emphasised on the importance of innovation during an interaction with the winners of DIPEX-2017 at College of Engineering Pune (CoEP) on Sunday.

Pune: Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar emphasised on the importance of innovation during an interaction with the winners of DIPEX-2017 at College of Engineering Pune (CoEP) on Sunday.

He mentioned that innovation council can help every student with their ideas. “I urge the students to focus on how technology can transform the nation into a developed country in all respects. Support is provided by many government schemes for innovative ideas by the students. We have established the innovation council, which helps students to take innovation to the next level. Innovative engineers identify the needs and work upon it,” said Javadekar.

He also added that a new system should be devised to reward degree on the basis of research done. “We are trying for a system, which can take laboratory success to land success. NITI Ayong and Atal Thinker Lab is an initiative by the government to appreciate the youth of the country. All talent is being channelised by the government,” said Javadekar.

Others present during the interaction were Nitin Karmalkar, Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Anil Sahastrabuddhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and BB Ahuja, Director, CoEP.
