PUNE: In a shocking incident a son killed his elderly father with a blunt object in Shirur on Wednesday night. The son was irked with his father’s abusive attitude towards his mother.
The accused was identified as Somnath Wagdare, 25, a resident of Kavte Yemai in Shirur. The accused was living with his brother from last three months.
The deceased was identified as Dadabhau Wagdare who was assaulted with an iron rod by the accused and succumbed to his injuries. The incident was reported to the police by Lakshmibai Wagdare, mother of accused.
According to Chakan police, “On Wednesday night an argument erupted between Dadabhau and his wife as she went to work on the farm of another person. After the initial argument, Dadabhau started beating Lakshmibai which infuriated Somnath who came to the house to visit his parents. The accused tried to stop his father and then got into a fight with him. He led a murderous attack on his father using an iron rod and killed him.”
The police arrested the accused and booked him on charges of murder.
