Pune: An Iraqi student, Ibidi Muntadar Hassan Nouri, has been deported by the Foreigners’ Registration Office (FRO) of the city police for sexually abusing a girl from Turkmenistan. The incident came to light when the girl approached Police Commissioner Rashmi Shukla.

Nouri was a first year Bachelor of Pharmacy student at a city college and was in the same class for two years. Nouri was deported by the FRO in its third attempt on August 21, as previously airlines were not ready to take him on board due to his violent behaviour.

According to the FRO, Nouri was sexually abusing the girl from the last four months. A police inspector from FRO said, “Nouri and the girl were friends for more than a year and used to hang out together. However, on one occasion he drugged her by slipping some pills into her drink at a local restaurant and took her to his flat, where he took objectionable pictures of her.”

The PI added that Nouri started blackmailing the girl by threatening to send the pictures to her parents in Turkmenistan. He blackmailed her for sexual favours and physically and verbally abused her over a period of four months.

FRO said the girl approached Shukla on August 3, after which police conducted an inquiry and decided to deport Nouri. DCP (FRO) Jyoti Priya Singh said, “Foreigners will be deported if they do not abide by rules and indulge in criminal activities.”
