Innompic games to be held in city for the first time

Speaking about the objective, Jagdale said, “Innovations have a huge potential to change day-to-day-life of human beings. Thus, to promote and encourage innovations all across the globe, we thought of Innompic Games just like the Olympic Games in sports.”

Pune: The Global Innompic Organising Committee, Science and Technology Park, Pune, Indian Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Parks and Business Incubators Association (ISBA) and College Of Engineering, Pune (CoEP), have jointly organised the first ever Innompic Games in Pune, starting from September 15 to 18 at CoEP’s BHAU Institute of Innovation Entrepreneurship and Leadership. 

An announcement to this effect was made by Rajendra Jagdale, Chairman of the first Innompic Organising Committee, Director General of Science and Technology Park, Pune, and President, ISBA, at a press meet on Tuesday.

The teams will have to invent an innovative solution for the given challenges and turn their inventions into successful ventures by playing innovation football simulation game. The big challenges to be addressed by the participating teams in the Innompic Games are World’s Best Innovation City and attracting 1 billion spectators for the the Innompic Games.

Speaking about the objective, Jagdale said, “Innovations have a huge potential to change day-to-day-life of human beings. Thus, to promote and encourage innovations all across the globe, we thought of Innompic Games just like the Olympic Games in sports.”

“It is for the people who have the vision to change the world for the better. Four teams, comprising visionaries, disruptive thinkers and innovators will compete in this inaugural edition of Innompic Games,” said Jagdale.

“If the solutions presented by the participating teams are feasible, then we may fund the solution in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 20 crore. The experts who are coming to guide the teams are well known financial experts and are in a position to evaluate the feasibility. Potential investors from countries like Russia, Malaysia, USA and India are attending the event,” added Jagdale.    

There will be participants from 11 countries that include India, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Nepal, Russia, Tanzania, Uganda, USA and Yemen. Each team will have maximum 10 members.

Prizes will be given to the exceptional performers. ‘Big Gold Medals’ and ‘Brilliant Idea’ for a team and individual players, team trophies for the best entrepreneurial strategies, anticipation, creative problem solving, creative marketing and intellectual team work. There would also be individual trophies Ms/Mr Innovation World, entrepreneurial leader, wittiest innovator and the best judge.
