IndiGo flight number 6E 6135 was scheduled to depart from Pune to Nagpur at 2.30 pm but departed at 6.49 pm. Around 180 passengers were onboard.

According to sources, “The aircraft was an Airbus A320 Neo aircraft with Pratt & Whitney engine, which always has engine problems. Before the departure of the aircraft, oil chip detection in one of its engines caused the delayed of more than four hours.”

A flight arrived from Delhi, which was sent to Nagpur and the return flight to Delhi was later cancelled. The airline returned the full amount for those who wanted their ticket fare back, while it arranged seats on alternate flights to Delhi for the others, said a source of the airline.

The incident comes close on the heels of another incident involving failure of engines of an IndiGo A320 Neo plane midair.
