PUNE: Hindu Rashtra Sena (HRS) Chief Dhananjay Desai will be out of Yerwada Jail soon, as he was granted bail by the Bombay High court on Thursday.
Desai was arrested as prime accused in the murder case of techie Mohsin Shaikh in Pune in 2014. Mohsin’s father Sadiq passed away recently in December. Earlier, the Pune sessions court rejected Desai’s bail plea eight times. The HRS Chief was granted bail by Justice Sadhna Jadhav. On Friday, Advocate Milind Pawar, who is representing Desai, said a fresh affidavit with conditions was prepared and sent to Desai for signature. “The formalities have been completed and he will come out of jail either on Saturday or on Monday,” added Pawar.
A total of 25 persons including Desai were arrested for communal clashes in Pune after doctored images of Bal Thackeray and Chhatrapati Shivaji went viral.
