Hotter days and nights ahead in city: IMD

The minimum temperature in the State is increasing gradually. The lowest minimum temperature was reported at 10.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Pune also reported minimum temperature at 10.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), central Maharashtra and Marathwada and Vidarbha may experience rainfall on February 20. As forecasted by IMD, Marathwada and Vidarbha may witness rainfall on February 21 as well. Whereas central Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa may remain dry. Pune residents may have to experience hotter days and nights this week. IMD has predicted that the minimum temperature in the day shall be around 12 till February 23. And the day temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius till the same time.

National scenario
On Sunday, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the plains across the country was at 5.2 degrees Celsius at Bhilwara in east Rajasthan. On Sunday, dense fog was observed at isolated places over Delhi. Moderate fog at isolated places over Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya, west UP, Haryana and Himachal at wee hours on Sunday. In an official statement, IMD has noted that the snowfall in the western Himalayan region will be due to a quick succession of two Western Disturbances (WDs). 

These WDs will affect northwest India till February 21. According to IMD, heavy rain/snow at isolated places is likely over Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir till February 21.
