Hot days come knocking as minimum temp rises

Pune: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), various cities in the State recorded a rise in minimum temperature. Pune recorded minimum temperature on Sunday at 13.7 degrees Celsius. The rising mercury in the State is also evident by the 16 degrees Celsius recorded as the minimum temperature at popular hill station Mahabaleshwar on Sunday.

Jalgaon recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 12.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The State will experience dry weather till February 22, IMD has predicted. 

Pune: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), various cities in the State recorded a rise in minimum temperature. Pune recorded minimum temperature on Sunday at 13.7 degrees Celsius. The rising mercury in the State is also evident by the 16 degrees Celsius recorded as the minimum temperature at popular hill station Mahabaleshwar on Sunday.

Jalgaon recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 12.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The State will experience dry weather till February 22, IMD has predicted. 

However, rise in day temperature will  be experienced in the city till February 24. The maximum temperature in Pune may touch 33 degrees Celsius in the coming week whereas the minimum temperature will be as high as 13 degrees Celsius. 

The lowest minimum temperature recorded across the country was at 6.2 degrees Celsius at Amritsar in east Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. 

Dense to very dense fog was observed at Porbandar in Saurashtra and Kutch. Shallow to moderate fog was observed at Cooch Behar in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, north Delhi in Haryana and Bengaluru in Karnataka during the morning hours on Sunday.

IMD also notified that a fresh western disturbance is likely to cause scattered to fair precipitation over the western Himalayan region and isolated to scattered rainfall over adjoining plains from February 23 onwards. 

IMD said that isolated to scattered rainfall activity is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu on February 24. Weather is likely to be dry over remaining parts of the country at the same time.
