Pune: The Hinjawadi-Shivajingar metro route has been declared a ‘vital important urban transport project’ by the Urban Development Department.
A press release issued by Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) on Friday stated that the project will require 35 hectares of land for its execution and will be built on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
As per PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte, work on the corridor will begin by October. The project will be executed by Tata Reality Infra Pvt Ltd (TRIL) and Siemens Project Venture on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer model.
The route will be 23.2 km long and fully elevated.
