Pimpri: A hearing in connection with the disqualification of BJP corporator Kundan Gaikwad on the grounds of a bogus caste certificate will be conducted by the Bombay High Court on November 23.

The High Court had on Friday heard the petition challenging Gaikwad’s disqualification. Gaikwad was elected from Chikhali ward number one on a seat reserved for the scheduled caste category candidate. His rival Nitin Rokde has challenged the validity of Gaikwad’s caste document.

Buldhana’s caste verification committee had recently submitted a report to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) declaring Gaikwad’s caste document as invalid.

Gaikwad was asked to submit his caste verification certificate before August 22. Pimpri Chinchwad’s Assistant Municipal Commissioner Dr Pravin Ashtikar said that the civic body has sought a reply from its legal department on Gaikwad’s disqualification.
