Khan and his gang have various cases, ranging from murder, dacoity, assault to extortion registered against them at Khadak, Kondhwa and Wanwadi police stations.

Khan (34), who is a resident of Ghorpadi, had formed his gang in 2004. The present members of his gang, who were also booked under MCOCA, were identified as Akshay Naik (28), Akshay Mane (23), both residents of Ghorpade Peth, and Akram Naseer (27), a resident of Aundh.
