GIIS students to study Gandhian principles

Pune: Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Balewadi has taken a step forward in the field of educating students by inculcating the Gandhian principles in its curriculum aiming to build leaders of tomorrow.

The school recently celebrated the national festival day by paying homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and also GIIS’s co-founder and patron late Justice CS Dharmadhikari, who strongly believed in Gandhi’s philosophy.

Commenting on the occasion, GIIS India Director (Operations) Rajiv Bansal said, “We believe in the holistic development of our students. At our Mahatma Gandhi Centre of Universal Values (MGCUV), we instil the Gandhian values and philosophy amongst students since early childhood so that they can excel not only in academics but also in becoming better human beings.”

The chief guests for the event were three-year-old Shanaya Vinode, the youngest nursery student of GIIS Balewadi and  School Principal Savinder Kaur.

A plethora of activities, focusing on the Gandhian philosophy, were organised and performed by the students for this day-long event.

A short skit was presented by the students on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and the message of the skit was to follow the core values of Mahatma Gandhi to become proud and responsible citizens of the country.

Students had carried out a march-past that was headed by the school head boy and head girl to conclude the function.
