Ghorpadi Village to get Junior College

The college will commence from this year itself. It has been registered under online admission procedure set up by the Education Department. The college has a capacity of 320 intakes this year

Pune: The State Education Department has sanctioned the Ghorpadi Village High School in Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) to start a junior college of Arts and Commerce on the school campus.

The college will commence from this year itself. It has been registered under online admission procedure set up by the Education Department. The college has a capacity of 320 intakes this year. There will be a total of four sections bifurcated to two Marathi and two English medium classes of Std XI and Std XII.

There are no colleges in Ghorpadi so far and local students have to take admission in colleges like Wadia College or Poona College which are located far away.

According to officials in PCB, the board used to receive several complaints from the residents of Ghorpadi regarding nuisance created while travelling by private vehicles, also irregular bus facilities and more.
