Pimpri: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a special General Body (GB) meeting to pass the annual budget of the civic body on June 15. Due to the election that was conducted in February, the annual budget of the civic body has been delayed for at least two months.

The then municipal commissioner, Dinesh Waghmare, had presented the draft budget with JNNURM works of Rs 4,805 crore on April 18 to the Standing Committee.

The chairperson of the standing committee approved the budget a week later. Immediately after the committee approved the budget, it was supposed to approve by the general body meeting.

According to sources, there will be no hike in either property or water taxes. However, the civic administration is planning to explore the possibility of maximum revenue through a geographical information system (GIS)-based survey of properties in its jurisdiction.
