Gang involved in stealing two-wheelers arrested

Pune: A five-member gang involved in stealing vehicles from urban areas and selling them in rural areas has been arrested by the sleuths of Bhosari police on Thursday. The police have recovered 20 two-wheelers amounting to Rs 8.55 lakh from those arrested.

Pune: A five-member gang involved in stealing vehicles from urban areas and selling them in rural areas has been arrested by the sleuths of Bhosari police on Thursday. The police have recovered 20 two-wheelers amounting to Rs 8.55 lakh from those arrested.

The arrested were identified as Rameshwar Khandare (25), a resident of Bhosari, Anil Kale (21), Avinash Madhe (19), both residents of Ahmednagar, Rameshwar Bhise, (21) and Omkar Chavan (19), both residents of Alandi. The two-wheelers were stolen from Pimpri Chinchwad, Vishrantwadi, Bhosari, Aale Phata, Dighi and Junnar.

According to the police, they first arrested Khandare on the basis of a tip-off from Beed. During interrogation, he confessed about stealing four vehicles and also revealed about the remaining four members of the gang.
