Ganesh mandals told to submit audit reports

Dige added that the charity commissioner’s office will see to it that every mandal submits its audit report. Criminal cases will be lodged against mandals which do not submit audit reports and violate provisions of Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950

Pune: Criminal cases will be registered against Ganesh mandals failing to submit their detailed audit reports, warned Shivkumar Dige, State Charity Commissioner while speaking at a meeting of Ganesh mandals held at Alpabachat Bhavan on Monday.

Dige added that the charity commissioner’s office will see to it that every mandal submits its audit report. Criminal cases will be lodged against mandals which do not submit audit reports and violate provisions of Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. Dige said his office will resolve all difficulties faced by Ganesh mandals during such submissions. Two officers have been deputed to look into difficulties faced by mandals.

Dige added that his office will keep a close tab on how donations are spent by mandals. Mandals should submit all details of donations and expenditure.
