Ganesh Idol vendor assaulted by four men

According to Uttam Nagar police station, the whole incident took place on Wednesday night when the prime accused Shinde asked for water from the complainant Sanket Mundlik (28), a resident of Shivne.

PUNE: A Ganesh idol vendor was assaulted and looted by four men on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday at Shivane. The police arrested one of the accused after a complaint was filed at Uttam Nagar police station. The accused were identified as Nilesh Shinde (23), Gulab Saudagar (26), Mangesh Garad (26) and Aman Khan (18). Police have arrested Shinde where as the other three are absconding.

According to Uttam Nagar police station, the whole incident took place on Wednesday night when the prime accused Shinde asked for water from the complainant Sanket Mundlik (28), a resident of Shivne. Mundlik was at his shop along with a friend when he was approached by Shinde for water but when he told Shinde about the unavailability of water he was threatened by Shinde. Later, Shinde left the place and returned with three of his friends and assaulted the complainant and one of his friends. Shinde also extorted Rs 8,500 from the victim.
