Gadling shifted to police custody

Defence lawyer Hafiz Kazi said, “We appeared for our client on Tuesday and the court has remanded him to police custody for seven days. He was in judicial custody due to medical reasons.” 

PUNE: Nagpur-based lawyer Surendra Gadling, who was arrested by Pune police for his alleged role in organising Elgar Parishad and his alleged connection with CPI (Maoist), has been shifted from judicial custody to police custody till June 25, on Tuesday.

Defence lawyer Hafiz Kazi said, “We appeared for our client on Tuesday and the court has remanded him to police custody for seven days. He was in judicial custody due to medical reasons.” 

Gadling, Rona Wilson, Mahesh Raut, Shoma Sen and Sudhir Dhawle were arrested from their respective homes in Delhi, Mumbai and Nagpur on June 6. They were arrested for their alleged role in organising Elgar Parishad.
