FTII student wins the Dolby Scholarship

Pune: A final year student of Sound Recording and Sound Design at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune, Dharmil Chandrakant Halvadia, has won the prestigious Dolby Scholarship for 2017.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a student of Sound Recording and Sound Design course at FTII for topping the second year of the three-year course. The amount of the scholarship is British Pounds 500. which is approximately Rs 43,000. 

Director of FTII Bhupendra Kainthola presented the scholarship cheque to Dharmil Halvadia in the presence of KM Harish, Head, Department of Sound Recording and Sound Design. 

Dharmil, who belongs to 2013 batch, hails from Rajkot, Gujarat. He is a BE in Electronics and Communication from Dharmsingh Desai University, Nadiad, Gujarat.

“Dharmil has consistently been a bright student. He is known for his hard working nature. This February, he was among two FTII students who worked as sync sound recordists for a final year project at the reputed International Film Schule (IFS), Cologne, Germany under a month-long international student exchange programme,” Kainthola said. Dolby Scholarship was instituted in FTII in 2005.
