FTII to conduct film appreciation course

PUNE: The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune has announced a weekend course on ‘Film Appreciation’ on its campus. The course will be conducted on February 16 and 17. 

Course Director Amit Tyagi is Professor of Screen Studies and Research and former Dean (Films) at FTII. 

“At the Course, the participants learn how to understand films, how to place them in a context - both historical and structural, and how to look beyond the story and actors in a movie. There will be analysis of films, right from short fiction films, documentaries, to feature films. The participants will get to see classics from across the globe and a few contemporary films, with a chance to interact with the filmmakers,” he said.
