FTII announced a residential foundation course in VFX and Finishing

The participants will be trained in the fundamentals of VFX for television and films, which will open opportunities for them to work with professionals in the animation and VFX industry. They will be exposed to various tools and processes in VFX. The participants will get an opportunity to develop an idea for VFX and participate in the green screen (chroma) shooting process. The course will provide hands on training in software.

Pune: Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune announced a 12-week residential foundation course in VFX (Visual Effects) and Finishing.

Designed to meet industry requirements, the full-time course has an intake of only 10 and will be conducted in the Pune campus, starting from September 18. The minimum educational qualification is HSC (Class XII). Anyone with basic understanding of and interest in drawing or visual effects or films can apply for the course.

The participants will be trained in the fundamentals of VFX for television and films, which will open opportunities for them to work with professionals in the animation and VFX industry. They will be exposed to various tools and processes in VFX. The participants will get an opportunity to develop an idea for VFX and participate in the green screen (chroma) shooting process. The course will provide hands on training in software.

“Visual Effects (VFX) and Animation have become an inseparable part of films, television and the Internet. This requires aesthetic skills, visual sense and know-how of software to handle high end equipment, which this course will provide. 
Besides the strong content that has been packed into this course, a unique feature is the practical experience of pre-production, production and post-production, that participants will be exposed to. 

Regular and frequent mentorship by leading experts will attune the participants to current industry trends,” said Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII Pune. The deadline for receipt of application form is August 25.
