Four women rescued from lodge on Sinhagad Road

Assistant Police Inspector Chandrakant Jadhav from the Crime Branch has lodged an FIR against them with the Sinhagad Road police station

Pune: Officials from the social security cell of the Pune city police have nabbed four persons allegedly running a prostitution racket from a lodge in Sinhagad Road area and rescued four women from their clutches. The police had raided the Nikhil Garden lodge near the Navle bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway Friday around 7 pm. The rescued women have been kept at a shelter home. The arrested accused have been identified as manager Sandip Sundar Shetty (32), Raju Anand Shetty (30), Bhagwat Pundalik Gite (40) and waiter Dnyaneshwar Sadashiv Bandal (24).

Assistant Police Inspector Chandrakant Jadhav from the Crime Branch has lodged an FIR against them with the Sinhagad Road police station.  

The police are now searching for the absconding accused Sadanand Shetty, Rafiq and Jagdish Basu Pujari.

All the accused persons have been charged for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
