Four injured as car rams into roadside safety barrier

Pune: Four persons sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling rammed into roadside guardrail safety barrier on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Somatane on Tuesday morning. They are undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital. 

The injured persons are identified as Amol Shivaji Patil (39), Shrimant Krishna Bhonde (45), Prakash Govind Waygade (45) and Suryaji Krishna Bhonde (39), all residents of Silver Park, Mira Bhayandar in Mumbai. 

According to the police, they had gone to their village in Kolhapur two days ago. They were returning to Mumbai on Monday night when the incident took place.

As per information, Suryaji was driving the car. When they reached the bridge near Somatane, the driver lost balance and the car hit the guardrails which pierced into the car (MH05CM3555). Except Suryaji, all others are seriously injured and admitted in the ICU of a private hospital, police said.
