Five-year-old boy drowns in Mula-Mutha river in the city

He was riding a bicycle near the river and accidentally fell into it at noon

Pune: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy drowned in the Mula-Mutha river near Sangamwadi bridge on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased boy was identified as Virat Kachi, who drowned in the river while he was riding a cycle near the river bank.

According to the information provided by the police, the minor’s house is located just a few metres away from the river. 

He was riding a bicycle near the river and accidentally fell into it at noon. 

A boy saw him falling into the river and reported the matter to his family, which rushed to the spot to rescue him. 

His family found the bicycle and shoes of the minor but couldn’t trace him.

The fire brigade also rushed to the spot and started searching for the boy. 
The firemen searched for his body through out Wednesday but could not find it.
