FIR filed against 20 persons for damaging stalls at Autocluster

Pune: An FIR has been registered against 20 persons for allegedly damaging stalls at a gathering organised at Autocluster in Chinchwad on Saturday, for providing low-cost houses under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Amol Bhamberkar (30) of Palghar has lodged a complaint in this regard with Pimpri police station. 

Pune: An FIR has been registered against 20 persons for allegedly damaging stalls at a gathering organised at Autocluster in Chinchwad on Saturday, for providing low-cost houses under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Amol Bhamberkar (30) of Palghar has lodged a complaint in this regard with Pimpri police station. 

According to police, Tata Capital Housing Finance company had organised the event with help of builders to provide loans under PMAY. People alleged that the company had offered cheap houses under the scheme but during the meeting, the company officials said that they will give houses at Rs 10 to 40 lakh. About 500 people had gathered and some of them had thought that they will get houses for free. Due to the misunderstanding, some people damaged the stalls. 

A police team led by DCP Ganesh Shinde, ACP Satish Patil and Inspector Masaji Kale of Pimpri police station rushed to the spot to control the situation.
