FIR against Vibgyor High for fee hike

Pune: An FIR has been registered against the Vibgyor High, Magarpatta city, principal and chief executive officer of Empire Foundation which runs the school, for allegedly violating fee norms.

Ramchandra Jadhav, who is holding additional charge of Deputy Director (Education), lodged the complaint in this regard with Bundgarden police station on Saturday. The case was transferred to Hadapsar police station for investigation. The police said the school did not comply with the Fee Regulation Act and flouted its norms regularly and also expelled a student whose parents raised their voice against the fee hike.

As per Jadhav's complaint, on March 13, the department issued a notice to the school for payment of Rs 2 lakh fine for first violation. However, the school did not pay the fine. The school also did not give records of fee hike in the last three years. A Std IV student's parents were given a letter to get their child admitted to another school and she was expelled from Vibgyor High. The student's parents had opposed the fee hike.

“They have not given records of the school to a committee formed by the Pune Municipal Corporation's Education Department,” Jadhav stated in his complaint lodged on Saturday. His statement was recorded at Bundgarden police station. The case was transferred to Hadapsar police station as the school is located in their jurisdiction.
