“In fact, we have never walked away from our responsibilities by just signing a cheque. We believe in and work towards creating better everyday conditions for people through our work in the focus areas for a positive contribution to the community at large.” said Chhabria.

PUNE: The Sassoon General Hospital (SGH), Pune received medical equipment worth Rs 2 crore from Finolex Industries Limited (FIL) along with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partner Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF).

In April 2017, the MMF donated 59 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) equipped with state-of-the-art life-saving equipment.

Ritu Prakash Chhabria - Managing Trustee, Mukul Madhav Foundation & Director, Finolex Industries Limited said that the shared vision for a better society doesn’t stop at only funding the projects.

“In fact, we have never walked away from our responsibilities by just signing a cheque. We believe in and work towards creating better everyday conditions for people through our work in the focus areas for a positive contribution to the community at large. As a corporate, we have a well-structured monitoring and evaluation process that leads to identification of relevant issues in a time-bound manner which in turn can enhance the ability to address the issues through our CSR activities,” said Chhabria.

Dr Ajay Chandanwale, Former Dean, BJ Medical College said that the project is unique as for the very first time, a corporate joined hands with a government hospital for such a initiative.

“Sassoon General Hospital is one of the most popular hospitals in Western Maharashtra. Though the project has no geography limits, people in and around Maharashtra avail these services. The new equipment at the NICU will provide quality healthcare to newborn babies thus reducing infant mortality and morbidity,” said Chandanwale.
