FICN of worth Rs 21K deposited in PNB in city

According to the complaint lodged by officials of PNB, the incident occurred between April and October in 2016. The Lashkar police said that FICN was deposited in different branches of the bank.

PUNE: Officials of the Lashkar police station have lodged a case against unidentified persons for depositing fake Indian currency notes (FICN) of face value Rs 21,500 at different branches of Punjab National Bank (PNB). 

According to the complaint lodged by officials of PNB, the incident occurred between April and October in 2016. The Lashkar police said that FICN was deposited in different branches of the bank. It was found that 20 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination and three notes of Rs 500 denomination were fake. Accordingly, a case was lodged at Lashkar police station. Assistant Police Inspector SV Gade is investigating the case.
