Pune: Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan has organised an interactive exhibition on nature and environment for children and youngsters on the occasion of World Environment Day at Fergusson College from June 5 to 29. June 5 is celebrated as World Environment Day.
The exhibition will be based on four elements – water, fire, earth and air – all inspired from the mother Earth. On the basis of these elements, online competitions including quiz and photography will take place.
In the online quiz, questions about the environment would be asked and the photography competition is for school children. The exhibition will display illustrations on natural elements and will have interactive stands. It will also focus on raising awareness about environmental issues and give hands-on experience to children on how to use alternative energy and how new technologies could correct the negative effects
Ravindra Pardeshi, Principal, Fergusson College, while speaking to the media said, “We also go for exchange programmes, as we have our own German department and this exhibition will take the journey forward. Heidi Wetz Kubach, Director of Goethe Institute, Pune said, “The exhibition is for everyone but we are focusing on children as to reach them is easy and they learn quickly through the audio, images and through interaction. All the volunteers in the exhibition are German students so it is a good chance for them to learn and enjoy the exhibition.”
The exhibition is open to all between 10 am and 5 pm in Lower Recreation Hall, Fergusson College.
