Pune: Pune-based NGO Tree Public Foundation and ‘We the Artists India’, an artist empowering organisation, have invited entries from schools across the city to participate in the sixth year of their festival, the ‘Environment Theatre Festival’ (ETF) 2017. This year, the theme of the festival is ‘Water and its importance in our daily life’.
The festival will be held at Pt Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir on November 25.
This green festival is designed for school students to raise awareness about environmental issues in a creative way to reach out to maximum people. More than 50 schools in the city, including some run by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), will participate in the festival this year, along with various theatre artistes, who will act as mentors to the students. The CSR partner of Tree Public, Cummins India Foundation, will also be a part of the festival.
At ETF 2017, each participating school will go through a selection round, where they will showcase their performances on the central theme in a span of 20 minutes.
The participation will be in two categories - Std I to IV and Std V to VIII. Each school can participate in any one of the categories. The shortlisted schools in the selection round will participate in the finale and win certificates, trophies, scholarships, etc.
