The complaint states that the accused has also threatened to shoot the complainant and her colleagues. He has also circulated obscene messages.

Pune: A 35-year-old former employee of a multinational IT company has been booked by the Pune city police for allegedly sending emails to his former boss threatening to kill her. The former superior has also accused him of defaming her through posts on social media and emails to colleagues.

Based on a complaint by the 34-year-old woman, Hinjewadi police has booked the accused, who hails from West Bengal and currently resides in Hinjawadi.

According to the FIR, the incident took place between February 18 and July 19 this year. “After the company sacked him, he held me responsible for it. He even sent emails containing obscene language against me to the company director. He has also threatened to shoot me and my colleagues. He has also sent emails to my acquaintances and circulated obscene and defamatory messages about me on social media,” the woman stated in her complaint.

Police have charged the accused for offences under sections 354 (stalking), 500 (defamation) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On his social media account, the man has posted several messages alleging that he was not being hired by any company because of defamation by the companies for which he worked.

He has narrated that he had been rewarded for his work but these persons destroyed his career. The man has alleged that he has been harassed as he had refused to sleep with the complainant.

Last month, the IT company headquartered in Bengaluru had also sent him a legal notice, which he had shared on his account on social media, to desist from sharing confidential information about the company.
On the other hand, the man has sought damages from these companies for defaming him. He claims to have founded a trust, which helps needy people.
