Eight youths booked for murdering school boy

Pune: A 16-year-old schoolboy was brutally murdered, while his friend was assaulted, by a group of boys at Sangram Durg, a fort in Chakan, over past enmity on Thursday night.  The deceased was identified as Aniket Shinde, a resident of Pansare Mala in Chakan, and the injured as Omkar Bisnare who resides near Chakan Post Office. 

Pune rural police booked eight youths, all residents of Chakan, for offences under section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), unlawful assembly, rioting of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Based on a complaint from Bisnare, an FIR was registered with Chakan police station. The incident took place at 8 pm on Thursday. “I called one of the accused persons on the phone and we had argued then the accused said he will come to my shop. I told him to meet at Sangram Durg. I and Shinde were waiting at the fort when the accused persons reached there armed with a revolver and other sharp weapons. They attacked Shinde with sharp weapons, while one of the accused fired from the revolver at him but the weapon got locked and didn’t fire. We fled from there but Shinde fell down and the accused persons assaulted him leading to his death,” the FIR stated.
